The Orthodox Presbyterian Church - the homepage for our denomination. Here you will find a church directory, on line publications such as New Horizons and Ordained Servant, as well as our confessional standards, answers to theological questions and many other resources. They have a great collection of e-books available to download for FREE, including a biography of J. Gresham Machen, one of the founders of the OPC, a history of Presbyterianism, and a nice selection of shorter works on various topics. Check it out!
Presbytery of the Midwest - the presbytery to which Apple Valley Presbyterian Church belongs.
North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council - (NAPARC) a group of 12 denominations to which the OPC belongs. Its purposes are 1. Facilitate discussion and consultation between member bodies on those issues and problems which divide them as well as on those which they face in common and by the sharing of insights “communicate advantages to one another” (Institutes IV, 2, 1). 2. Promote the appointment of joint committees to study matters of common interest and concern. 3. Exercise mutual concern in the perpetuation, retention, and propagation of the Reformed faith. 4. Promote cooperation wherever possible and feasible on the local and denominational level in such areas as missions, relief efforts, Christian schools, and church education.
The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals - this is the organization that supports the Fox Cities Reformation Society, for which Pastor Hartley and Steve Schmidt serve on the steering committee. In addition to this site, the Alliance also produces Reformation21 , the Christward Collective, and Place for Truth, three blogs of theological content. They also produce The Mortification of Spin, a regular podcast with OPC pastor and Westminster Theological Seminary professor, Carl Trueman, PCA pastor Todd Pruitt, and author and blogger, Aimee Byrd (see below under Reformed Forum for her website).
Reformed Forum is an organization devoted to the production and distribution of reformed digital content. The president and founder of Reformed Forum is Rev. Camden Bucey, pastor of Hope OPC in Grayslake, Illinois. Rev. Matthew Cotta of Grace OPC in Hanover Park, Illinois, is also a regular contributor. They produce the podcast, Christ the Center, which discusses a different theological topic each week, among others. Check out their site to see what they offer.
Reformed Forum has produced a number of podcasts of particular interest to women. Here are links to two of them, the first features an interview with Melissa Kruger, author of The Envy of Eve, and the second, with Aimee Byrd, author of Housewife Theologian. Both highly recommended reads and listens. You can hear Aimee Byrd as a regular contributor on the Mortification of Spin (see above) as well as read her blog at www.housewifetheologian.com.
You can find these books and others at the Westminster Theological Seminary Bookstore. An excellent source of good material are the faculty recommended books listed on their site. In addition, Westminster Bookstore has a number of pages devoted to books of particular interest to women. This would be a good place to start if you are interested in finding a book about women or a good book for a women's study. They have great prices, fast (and free on orders over $49) shipping and helpful service.
Ligonier Ministries, founded by RC Sproul, has a vast amount of content available on their site as well as great apps for Android and iOS where you can listen to their broadcasts as well as many lectures and sermons for free. They have a great list of Bible Reading Plans.
Westminster Theological Seminary - at one time the vast majority of pastors in the OPC were graduates of Westminster. Visit their site regularly for conference audio as well as news related to the seminary and other reformed causes. They also have a very nice bookstore which has great prices and inexpensive shipping.
Westminster Seminary California - two of the faculty at Westminster California have previously served congregations in our presbytery: Rev. Charles F. Telfer and Dr. David M. VanDrunen. Their site also has many audio and written resources.
Mid America Reformed Seminary - in Dyer, Indiana, has contributed a number of its graduates to our presbytery. In addition, one of the pastors of our presbytery, Rev. Alan Strange, is a faculty member of the seminary.
Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation - CCEF exists to restore Christ to counseling and counseling to the church. A leader in educating Biblical counselors, they also publish The Journal of Biblical Counseling which can be obtained in electronic format. They also have a rich library of helpful resources.
